OA is an expanded mode of perception accompanied by a calm and resourceful state. Other inherent characteristics of OA include:
Embodied OA is naturally eco-logical – good for you – good for others – good for the environment and the world (win-win-win).
.
.
When we are distressed or fearful, we are in tunnel awareness. This is typical of the fight & flight (survival) mode. Problems arise when this mode is triggered unnecessarily, causing us to react negatively or destructively. If unresolved, high levels of stress may result in serious health or relationship issues. By activating OA, we gain access to a range of more positive, resourceful, and health-promoting responses.

The OA Integral Process enables groups to harness their collective consciousness and combined creativity for the purpose of achieving win-win-win outcomes. Such outcomes are beneficial for all individuals in the group, and the group as a whole, as well as the broader organisation or population.
The OA for Change Project applies the OA Integral Process with the aim to address health or safety concerns, social problems, or environmental issues in one’s community or globally.

According to the Psychiatry and Pediatric Specialist, Dr Dan Siegel:
.“Joy, creativity, awe, gratitude, compassion, kindness—the qualities we cherish the most will naturally emerge when we drop beneath the illusion of separateness and realize our profound interconnection.”
.Open Awareness dissolves the illusion of separateness and promotes a sense of interconnection.
